Disney's Sleeping Beauty is an enchanting fairy tale of Princess Aurora and the curse placed on her as a baby by an evil fairy, Maleficent. Maleficent declares that Princess Aurora will prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday. That simple prick will result in her death.

With the blessing of the King and Queen, the fairies whisk Aurora into the cover of the woods to live with them until her sixteenth birthday has passed. There, she will be protected from Maleficent's curse.
The story of Sleeping Beauty continues until the day of her sixteenth birthday. The fairies are busy preparing a celebration for Aurora's 16th birthday, and while they are doing so, Aurora spends time in the forest picking berries. She meets the handsome Prince Phillip and they instantly fall in love. Realizing how much time has passed, she hurries home and asks Prince Phillip to return again that evening.
Maleficent hears of Aurora's location and is able to lure her to a spinning wheel, where she pricks her finger and instantly falls into a deep sleep. Maleficent then captures Prince Phillip, but he fights her to the death with the help of the fairies and runs to his Sleeping Beauty Princess. With a kiss from the Prince, the evil spell is broken and Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip live happily ever after.
